With the use of Blender and my 3D printers, I wanted to design and manufacture some truly one-of-a-kind decorative pieces that were inspired by the Memphis movement in the 1980s and more recently, the "Dopamine decor" trend that took over Instagram and TikTok. Since then, some of these pieces have gained popularity on my Etsy page.
The designs are optimized for 3D printing in every way. Extreme 90 degree overhangs are replaced by 45 degree internal slopes so as to not require any supports, saving time and wasted material. Various components are designed to be printed separately and assembled later on, held together by either friction alone or with the help of some glue. Other practicalities were considered, such as a drainage hole at the bottom of plant pots, as well as an integrated bottom tray to catch excess water.
