I wanted some modern looking hooks for hanging clothes in my house. Having failed to find ones I like for sale online, I made them myself. The 3D printable models have been shared online for anyone to use.
3D printing was the obvious choice for my ultra-specific needs:
- No visible screws or glue.
- Customizable color option.
- Of minimalist look fitting the rest of the interiors.
Using Blender, I designed brackets into which the hook slides into and clicks into place. The bracket requires two screws to prevent the hook from ever coming loose and rotating. The bracket also allows for minor tilt adjustment, so there was no need to worry about drilling two perfectly vertical holes. After installation, the screws are completely hidden. The hook stays easily removable with sufficient force pulling upwards, while also keeping a tight fit otherwise. I designed these to withstand years of daily use, even when hanging heavy objects, and my own field testing shows no sign of wear over the course of one year.
